Color Vibe Run at the BB&T Center

Sunrise, FL- The Color Vibe Run was held bright and early this past Saturday at the BB&T Center in Sunrise. I like to get in the mix for this type of stuff and I paid for it with myself and gear covered in the colored powder by the end of the day. It was worth it and I got some great shots. Tuscon Saddletramps vs Gold Coast Derby Grrls

Lake Worth, FL- Roller derby is for real. There's a league, official referees, and fans to support. Competition is fierce. I kind of have an idea of how it is played, but even if you don't know, it is still an entertaining sport to watch. It's cool how the eccentricity of the sports brings together all sorts of people. Birdhouse Miami to NYC Skate Tour

On a recent assignment from New Times, I got the chance to meet Tony Hawk on his Birdhouse Miami to NYC Skate Tour. Unfortunately I missed the demo by the pros, but was able to get some behind the scenes photos of the guys hanging out. A guy known as Funky added to his autograph collection by having the skate pros tattoo their signature on his back. "Funky" supposedly has the record for tattooed autographs. Check out the full slideshow over at New Times.

Quidditch Match at Lynn University

I was assigned by Broward-Palm Beach New Times to cover a Quidditch match that was held at Lynn University on Sunday. The game is from the Harry Potter series and the main rule of the game is that through out play you must keep your broom in between your legs. In person, I was focused more on the game play, but as I look at the photos I kind of crack up at the fact that everyone is running around with brooms in between their legs.
