FAT Art Village Better Block Artwalk, C & I Studios, and Fox & Hounds

Ft. Lauderdale, FL- Last weekend I checked out the Better Block day artwalk at the FAT Art Village for New Times. There was some great art and it actually wasn't too hot out. Check out the full slideshow over at New Times.

After the conclusion of the Better Block art walk, C & I studios had a few bands play live in their studio. Some friends and I headed out for the night cap and caught sets by Sirens & Sealions & Forlorn Strangers. The bands were both light and folk, a great vibe for the intimate setting.

After C & I, we stopped by Fox and Hounds, a dive bar with punk bands playing. A complete switch up in vibe and an interesting scene.

Explosions in the Sky at Grand Central 6-20-12

Miami, FL- Grand Central was packed for Explosions in the Sky. I've been a big fan for a while and it was great to finally see them live. When Grand Central is packed it definitely can be a challenge to shoot, but I'm glad I am tall. Check out the full gallery over at Miami New Times.

American Social for Urban Daddy

Ft Lauderdale, FL- Assignments from Urban Daddy are great because they put me in the know of where to go out. American Social is right on Las Olas and has a great American feel. They even have beer taps that are self service. Check out Urban Daddy's write up.

A Weekend Out and About

I brought my camera along with me to Respectables in West Palm Beach and also to Lake Worth to check out an art show. I used to bring my camera everywhere and I have been doing it a lot more lately.

Swap Shop

Ft. Lauderdale, FL- New Times gave me an assignment to photograph at the Swap Shop in Ft. Lauderdale the other week. Its definitely an interesting place with all sorts of vendors selling all sorts of stuff. It's crazy just how much stuff there is for sale. I ended up making two trips because the first time I went it was a crappy day and not many people were there. Here are some of my favorites from that day and you can go on over to New Times to see the second trip.

This guy was perched outside of his booth of weapons waiting for customers. I guess he was bored, because he kept playing with the taser that he held. Imagine there being very few people in the maze of booths and all you hear is the taser going off. Quite eerie.
