Filmgate Interactive Media Conference Kickoff Party

Miami, FL- Last night I went to the Filmgate Interactive Kick Off party at Miami Light Project in Wynwood. The performance I got to see was called TRPL QUINCE. It was a bizarre and interesting transmedia performance that was conceptualized, written and performed by Octavio Campos. 

In one of the rooms was Amy von Harrington's Three Minute Space-Time Monkey Business Continuum. The installation asks "what does it feel like to have space to get the monkey off thy back, go ape about the sands of time. relax, take care of some monkey business?"

Jacob Niedzwiecki was working on coding and testing his piece that would be premiered the next night. I asked him about the outfit and he simply said that he could give me some art speak, but basically he's from Toronto.

No Pants Metrorail Ride Miami

Miami, FL- A small group of people partook in the No Pants Metrorail Ride on Sunday. Starting at Government Center, the ride was a success with the No Pants participants playing ukuleles, dancing and having a good time. The ride coincided with the No Pants Subway Ride organized by Improv Everywhere in New York. I really tried to capture the reactions of people as the pantless riders got on. Some found it amusing while others were disturbed. Check out the full gallery and review over at New Times.

Christmas in New England

I spent Christmas with family in New England this year. We visited my grandpa twice at his nursing home and it was great to see him.

I asked grandpa to smile, but he wasn't, so I told him to smile as if he had just farted. It worked. 

The latest episdoe of Playboy was a Christmas gift

It always strikes me as such a sad place. As my dad says, I'll jump first.

We celebrated my uncle Pete's retirement at his place on Cape Cod and as part of his celebration him and some of the family took part in the polar plunge. At a lovely 30 degrees, it was cold outside and the water was damn cold too. Here's the video I posted on instagram.
